No accidental tipping or water on the floor. This was definitely a great choice for both my cat and my dog. It's easy to disassemble and clean as well as refill. I love the handy little finger holes on the bottom so that I can pick it up off the floor with ease

We rescued a small dog about a month ago and she was constantly gulping down water and then spitting it back up. As soon as we received this bowl, the problem stopped. Now she drinks much slower and is controlled. We haven't had any issues since we started using the bowl. Our other dog uses it too, and we didn't have any issues at all training either one how to use it. All we did was put down the bowl, show them that the floater pushes down to release water (with our hands) and that was it! Highly recommend. As a bonus, we no longer have water drips all over the floor!
Dogs have adjusted to it quickly and they are making much less of a mess. Used to leave a huge trail of water away from the water bowl and that’s virtually been eliminated. Need to monitor the amount of water they are getting now to ensure they get enough. Little hard to do as I think previously as much water ended up on the floor as they drank. Have back up water for them in the laundry room where water on the tile floor isn’t as much an issue. Overall I think it is working as designed and definitely reducing the mess.
